Message from Cam’s Mom:

“Cam’s Club is for my son, who left his physical journey too soon. I believe he’s now watching over all the little ones in our family, spreading love and joy, just as he always did. Cam adored kids and felt his happiest surrounded by family. However, the shadow of domestic violence, mental health, and addiction loomed large, overpowering the happiness he found in simple, loving moments. His quest for joy was tragically overtaken by substances stronger than his will to stay.

If only we had known the depths of his struggle. We talked about rehab, about its worth, but the battle was harder than we imagined. He was so deeply loved, yet he couldn’t see it, and his choices led us here. My heart aches with his absence.

Every day, I wish he had shared just how heavy his burden was. Through Cam’s Club, we honour Cam’s memory and strive to be the support that he, and many like him, needed. We’re here to ensure that no one feels alone in their darkest hours.”

Love Cam’s Mom

Join us in our mission. Together, we can be a beacon of hope and a source of healing.

The Significance of a Spaghetti Dinner:

Spaghetti was Cam’s favourite meal and for the family, it holds a special place in our hearts—it was more than just a meal; it was a symbol of family unity and cherished memories. It’s poignant to note that his last supper was shared with his loved ones, seated around the kitchen table, savouring every bite of this comforting dish.

In commemorating Cam’s legacy, we’ve chosen to host a Spaghetti Dinner—a gathering reminiscent of those intimate kitchen conversations. The warmth of the hall echoes the familial atmosphere, inviting guests to share in candid discussions, that we would have loved to have with Cam.

Sadly, within a short span of eight weeks after he died, our community has been confronted with the devastating reality of addiction’s grip, witnessing three families lose loved ones. It’s a stark reminder that addiction often masks deeper struggles, much like Cam’s own battle with domestic violence and mental health issues.

Through this Spaghetti Dinner, we aim to create a space where these difficult conversations can unfold, hearts can open, and support can be found amidst shared experiences. Together, we honour Cam’s memory and advocate for a community where no one suffers in silence.

Who Should Attend:

The Spaghetti Dinner is open to anyone who seeks a supportive environment for open dialogue and understanding.

We welcome individuals from all walks of life, including:

  • Those directly impacted by domestic violence, addiction, or mental health,
  • Family members and friends seeking guidance and support,
  • Community members interested in raising awareness and fostering empathy,
  • Advocates and professionals in the fields of domestic violence, mental health, and addiction prevention, and
  • Anyone looking to honour Cam’s memory and contribute to building a more compassionate community.

All are encouraged to attend with an open heart and a willingness to engage in meaningful conversations that promote healing, understanding, and unity.

As this is a family event, we will have a safe space for children to play.
